Manufactures products by supervising staff; organizing and monitoring work flow.
Manages all GMP packaging operations for powders, liquids, snacks and bakery products. Maintains all safety rules, SOP's in accordance with all company and outside regulatory policies and rules. Develops metrics to improve production efficiency.
Trains production staff and develops teams. Communicates job expectations; planning monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
Manages all activities of the packaging operations and blending operations. Cooperates with the Quality Control and Quality Assurance Departments to insure compliance with all quality SOP's. Supports the Quality and technical departments with any audits, be they GMP Certifications, Organic Certifications, or Audits by Government Regulatory Agencies.
Maintains appropriate files for tracking batch and lot records. Tracks productivity and bonus number for all lines and employees in the packaging department while meeting and exceeding efficiency standards. Maintains operating costs within budget;Acts as the Sanitation Supervisor as required by GMPEnsures the manufacturing and packaging operations comply with safety, quality, and GMP requirements.
Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments. Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests. Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; and five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Management Responsibilities: Directly supervises the Packaging Supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; assuring all company rules and regulations are followed.
Must have excellent leadership skills in a manufacturing setting. Requirements:To be successful the candidate will have extensive experience in team building. Daily team meets will be necessary to fully communicate expectations and develop individuals.
